The 4th edition of Château Maestricht will take place from 30 October to 1 November, the highlight of La Saison Culinaire and a must for wine lovers and gourmets. For three days, the Vrijthof will once again be transformed into a unique wine &food tasting paradise. With more than 50 Euregional winegrowers and makers of authentic Limburg ingredients, enriched with special beers, regional products, cooking demonstrations by top chefs, clinics, workshops and cultural entertainment.
New this year is the special 'open-air area' of almost 500m2 that will be added to the Tasting Pavilion on the Vrijthof, where various food trucks will present their specialties. Château Maestricht also serves more tasteful events outside the pavilion, such as the first edition of the Whiskey Festival The Spirit of Maastricht (Oct 31 – Sint Janskerk) and a real Masterclass of Limburg wines (Oct 31 – Hoofdwacht), where Annaline Doelen, known connoisseur of Limburg wines and owner of wine restaurant mes amis, gives text and explanation about grape varieties, vinification, taste development and wine and food combination of the wines.
