Love it or not, broccoli is touted as a superfood and offers a range of health benefits. And more reasons have been discovered to eat broccoli. Researchers have discovered candidate genes that regulate phenolic compounds in broccoli. Consumption of phenolic compounds, including certain flavonoids, is associated with a lower risk of coronary heart disease, type II diabetes, asthma, and several cancers.
