Together they have developed six steps to maximize the flavor of the ice cream. The scientific equation illustrates a step-by-step process of how to properly taste ice cream to maximize flavor and create a sensory experience. For example, it has been found that eating ice cream with a regular spoon is incorrect and -14 degrees is the optimal taste temperature for a scoop of ice cream.
These are the six steps to perfect ice cream tasting:
1. Allow the ice cream to warm outside the freezer to -14°C for 15 minutes. Wait until the ice is soft to the touch. This allows the aroma molecules to be released better
2. Eat the ice cream with a teaspoon and scoop it only half full
3. Place the teaspoon upside down in the mouth so that the ice cream touches the tongue first for the first taste
4. Pass the ice through your mouth while breathing so that it reaches all your receptors. Experience the creamy, smooth texture, mouthfeel and taste
5. Hold the ice cream in your mouth for 12 seconds to experience the maximum taste
