This autumn, Liemès Food District will open its doors in the iconic building The Wall in Utrecht. The food district is a new catering concept where you can enjoy the tastiest dishes from eleven different cuisines with friends, family or colleagues. Liemès is derived from the Latin limes, which means 'border'. It is also the word for the demarcation and defense zone of the Roman Empire, which ran in the Netherlands in the area where Liemès is located. Like the Roman border at the time, Liemès is a meeting place. There are several seating areas – with low, high and long tables – and two open bars. The restaurant area by the large windows has an intimate atmosphere where you can eat extensively. At eleven different kitchens you can choose from the tastiest dishes from various countries.
Eleven world cuisines You order your dish from various chefs, after which you take a seat in the cozy seating area where long tables and high seats are located at bar level. If you are with a larger group, you can take a seat at a table or in one of the cozy seats by the high windows. In line with the appearance of Liemès, the different kitchens will have their own look &feel.
Eye-catchers
You will find yourself in between all the kitchens at the long tables and high seats. A second bar connects this square to an elevated window area where you can order food to order. Take a seat at a table or on one of the comfortable corner sofas, scan the QR code and easily order your dishes and drinks. Your order will then be brought to your table. While you look out through the high windows, the meter-high blue ceiling is lit up like a starry sky by designer lamps. Another eye-catcher is an eight-meter-high tree that connects both spaces.
Business &pleasure
Liemès can accommodate five hundred guests who will be surprised by culinary, refined dishes. The space is large enough to take into account the one and a half meters of society. It is a meeting place where you get together with your colleagues, friends or family. Especially for groups who want to meet or dine in a private atmosphere, several 'greenhouses' have been built in the room that you can rent.
The food district is open from 8 a.m., 7 days a week. Due to its favorable location near roads, Liemès is easy to reach. You can park for free for the first two hours of your visit.
