You will find the best burger in the Benelux at Ter Marsch &Co. The burger specialist took home the win in the final of the Best Burger Benelux on October 13 at the BBB in the MECC Maastricht. Ter Marsch &Co left a hundred contenders behind. The Gojira, the burger who also won prizes at the Horecava, was again judged best by the international jury.
The Gojira is served on two small steam buns with a patty of Dutch dry aged rib eye and Japanese Wagyu. The burger is topped with a crumble of purple tortillas and nori, red onion pickled in yuzu, sweet and sour cucumber and mini bok choy and bulgogi pulled pork. The pulled pork is braised in a bulgogi marinade with smoked pork belly, cooked in Mexican red pepper sauce. Then there are two sauces for the burger:the white sauce made on the basis of Jarritos lime juice and manuka honey with Japanese pink ginger and lime zest. The red sauce is made on the basis of Gochujang paste, a Korean fermented soybean paste that is made with the homemade spicy ketchup from Ter Marsch &Co.
Jury Report
According to the five-member jury, the presentation of The Gojira was executed to perfection. Moreover, down to the smallest details, a correct overall picture has been thought of. The jury judged the burger as a true taste explosion, original, surprising and very balanced with an amazing presentation in a steamer basket. The 'sliders' are somewhat smaller in size and are served in pairs. This makes them very handy to eat.
National and international awards
The burgers from Ter Marsch &Co have been in the spotlight since they opened in 2014. After winning many different national and international titles, Ter Marsch &Co can be described as an iconic destination. By obtaining this new prize, Ter Marsch &Co once again proves to be one of the best burger specialists in the Netherlands and beyond. Last January, the burger bar won the prize for the best burger and the tastiest fries in the Netherlands during the Horecava. The award-winning 'The Gojira' is on the menu in the Rotterdam and Amsterdam branches of Ter Marsch &Co. The burger is served in pairs in an Asian steamer basket.
