Peel the potatoes, wash them and dry them. Remove the roots and stems from the small onions. Wash them then cut them into halves or quarters.
Preheat the oven to th.6 (180°C). In a casserole dish or in a tajine dish, heat a mixture of butter and olive oil on the fire. Lightly brown the potatoes and onions over medium heat. Add the bay leaf, coriander seeds and powder with the other spices. Salt and pepper from the mill.
Pour 10 cl of boiling water into the casserole dish or the tagine dish, put a lid on and bake for 40 minutes.
At the end the potatoes should be tender.
