Fans of homemade guacamole know it:once you have passed the stage of making it yourself, it is difficult to go back to the industrial mixture, not necessarily bad, but which necessarily has less taste. And then, making your guacamole is not complicated:to start, all you have to do is take a fresh avocado and mash it with a fork, then add a mixture of ready-made spices (the one from Old El Paso is delicious). If you are motivated, you can make your guacamole from A to Z using a fresh avocado, lemon, garlic, onion, tomato and tabasco. The only problem? After a few minutes, the guacamole begins to darken… Not great!
The American site PureWow has found the trick to keep the guacamole (and the avocado) very green:use a "cooking spray", a non-stick spray of oil (usually rapeseed), on the preparation which is still fresh and green . According to the site, the guacamole thus stays green for a whole day, and the trick also works on avocado halves (which we always force ourselves to eat whole, precisely because we don't want the other half blackens!). We grant you, in France, cooking sprays are not on sale in supermarkets… so, we get a real American cooking spray from the PAM brand, on sale on the My American Market site for 6.29 €.
So, who is the queen of guacamole now?!
