A few weeks ago, we learned that salt makes wine better, according to the revelations of the granddaughter of the founder of the largest wine company in the United States (did you follow?). Today, we learn that the same trick is valid for… coffee! Exit milk and sugar, salt would improve the flavor of coffee because it would simply be the remedy for bitterness, according to a study published in the scientific journal Nature and relayed by the site Metro .
The sodium ions would indeed cancel the slightly too strong and bitter taste of the coffee while intensifying its flavor, which would considerably sweeten the beverage (rather practical in the morning!). We avoid having a heavy hand, however:unlike sugar, a small pinch is enough to obtain the miracle effects, whether in coffee or wine. It costs nothing to test at the next breakfast!
