More importantly, skipping this meal could promote the onset of heart disease, according to a recent American study. So what should you eat when you get out of bed? Many people opt for sweets, especially cereals (yes, it's a habit that is not always lost when you become an adult!) which reflects the image of healthy food. But British dietitian and blogger Chelsey Amer warns:she tells The Evening Standard that this sweet choice favored by thousands of people is equivalent… to a slice of pizza! “It will surprise you but a medium slice of pizza and a bowl of cereal with whole milk contain the same number of calories .
Worse still, the pizza would even be a better option than the bowl of cereal. “However, pizza has a higher protein intake which keeps you full and keeps you feeling full until lunchtime “, adds the expert. If you're a die-hard cereal lover, don't panic:just choose a "whole" variety that is high in fiber and mixed with fruit, which is much healthier than most other sugar-laden products. Of course, the advice is not to eliminate all kinds of breakfast and only subscribe to the pizza at 7:30 a.m., but if it contains a lot of vegetables (forget the 4 Cheeses or the Burger right away …), then it remains a little pleasure that we can indulge in from time to time.
