Instagram is the social network that makes us dream the most and manages to make our mouths water with all the food photos it offers. Moreover, it is estimated that a "foodista", i.e. a food lover, opens the application 18 times a day and watches 4 times more content than an average user ( according to a study by Digimind). Along the way, he/she consults the pages of his/her friends as well as those of brands, chefs and restaurants. And in the course of likes and comments on photos of tempting dishes, he/she finds himself discovering new tempting addresses. This is why Instagram has teamed up with the online restaurant reservation platform TheFork to offer table reservations directly on the restaurant page. Smart!
The functionality has already been implemented with 8,000 restaurants currently playing the game (out of more than 50,000 TheFork partners worldwide, particularly in France, but also in Belgium, Denmark, Italy, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland, Spain and Brazil). Concretely, how does it work? Well, once on the Instagram page of a restaurant offering the feature, we see a “Reserve” button under the bio (and any permanent Stories) and above the posts. We click on it and we then come across a virtual calendar. Simply choose the desired date and time, indicate the number of guests and then validate the reservation, either by identifying yourself with your TheFork account (handy for earning Yums!), or by indicating your name, first name, email and phone number. Simpler, it will be difficult to find!
So, are we having a little restaurant soon?
