How about being able to store your onions for months?
Well it's possible and it's easy!
No more sprouted or rotten onions...
It was my grandmother who revealed this awesome trick to me.
The trick to storing onions for more than 8 months is to put them in stockings simply. Watch:
Contents
1. Get an old pair of stockings or tights.
2. Put an onion in the pantyhose.
3. Tie a knot.
4. Thread the second onion into the pantyhose after the first.
5. Make a new knot.
6. Repeat with the other onions.
7. Hang your tights high up on a nail.
There you go, your onions will now keep for more than 8 months :-)
Practical and economical, right? And it avoids throwing away onions that have become too ripe. No more waste!
When you need an onion, just cut the sticky on top of the onion.
This grandmother's trick works to preserve all types of onions (red, white, yellow or green) but also to keep shallots longer.
Plus, it's a great way to recycle your spun tights!
And if you've cut too many onions, there's also an effective way to keep them longer with cut onions. Check out the trick here.
