The secret of my stewed beef? I let it simmer as long as possible… Discover this recipe which is sure to delight my guests! You tell me the news !
This recipe, I got it from my grandmother:beef stew was the dish with sauce that we used to eat on Sundays. Tasty ingredients to handle and simple preparation make it a dish that I love to cook!
My Ingredients:
- 1.5 kg of meat for beef bourguignon (a little fatty, but not too much)
- 2 onions
- 3 shallots
- about ten carrots
- 150 g button mushrooms
- 1 bag of olives
- ½ liter of white wine
- 1 sachet of Madeira jelly
- 5 bay leaves
- Salt and pepper
My Preparation:Follow the Chef!
- Fry the onions and shallots cut into pieces in a little olive oil.
- During this time, if necessary, trim the pieces of meat so that they are not too large.
- Brown them with the onions and shallots.
- Wet with half a glass of water to prevent the meat from sticking.
- Add two glasses of white wine, the carrots cut into strips, the sliced mushrooms and cook for about an hour over medium heat and covered.
- After one hour of cooking, add the rest of the wine, the sachet of jelly (to solidify the sauce a little and make it smoother) and mix well.
- Then add the olives and bay leaf.
- Salt and pepper to taste, and simmer again for about two hours.
My Bonus Tip!
If you have the possibility of letting the meat cook longer, for example by preparing it the day before for the next day, it is even better! The longer your beef is cooked, the more tender and tasty it will be…
The Price For 8 People:
- 1.5 kg of meat for beef bourguignon:around €16
