Blueberries and blackberries are too good, but it's is also very expensive!
So what could be more annoying than buying some (or picking some) and realizing that they have rotted after 2 days?
Luckily, there's a trick to extending the lifespan of wild berries by days, and sometimes even weeks!
The trick is to wash them in a mixture of white vinegar and water to keep them fresh longer:
1. In a bowl, mix 1 part white vinegar to 3 parts water.
2. Immerse them in the mixture for 2 to 3 minutes. White vinegar is responsible for removing mold and bacteria.
3. Drain the berries in a colander and rinse with clean water to remove the vinegar taste.
4. Take your salad spinner, add 3 layers of paper towel inside to create a cushion and absorb moisture.
5. Put the blueberries and blackberries in the spinner and spin for a few seconds, until they are completely dry.
6. Put Paper Towel at the bottom of a large airtight box and place the berries in it. The goal is for the berries to have room.
7. Put the box in the fridge and leave the lid ajar to prevent moisture from forming inside.
There you go, you can now keep your blueberries and blackberries much longer :-)
This natural preservation is the most effective so as not to lose your precious fruits.
