The Secret Recipe for Successful Mashed Potatoes.

Ingredients

- 1 kg of potatoes

- 240 g fresh cream

- 180 ml of milk

- 115 g of butter

- salt, pepper

- 3 cloves of garlic

How to

1. In a Dutch oven, pour the pieces of peeled potatoes, covered with at least 3 cm of water.

2 . Simmer until tender (20-30 min depending on the size of the potatoes). A knife goes in easily when cooked.

3. Combine the butter, minced garlic and milk in a small saucepan. Heat over low heat. Leave aside for now.

4 . Drain the potatoes in a colander and return them to the pot while still hot. Mash the potatoes.

5 . Add butter, milk and garlic mixture.

6. Mash potatoes with a fork until smooth.

7 . Stir in the fresh cream and season to taste with salt and freshly ground pepper. Cover until ready to eat.

Bonus Tips

- For a thicker consistency of your mashed potatoes, reduce the quantity of milk by two.

- My grandmother always replaces crème fraîche with olive oil (about 10 cl)

- If you want to make homemade mashed potatoes, follow the same recipe and mash the potatoes until completely smooth.

The potato masher will come in handy then. You can also add a little milk for a smoother texture.
