Everyone knows the colored pastes, but in terms of originality there is better! A few days ago, students from Caen presented a rather strange invention for their end-of-study project…. pasta made from insects.
At the origin of the project, four students in engineering school, looking for an idea that would revolutionize the consumption of the French, and why not the world. The idea came to them following a questioning of the consumption of farmed meat, they explained.
Insects, fetish foods of Asians and part of Africa, turn out according to an old legend, rather good for health since they are full of proteins. The goal of the creators is to change the minds of Europeans on these little beasts that we do not really want to taste. The major argument put forward to convince consumers is that of protecting the planet. Rejecting almost no greenhouse gases and consuming much less water than cattle and poultry, these small insects are riding the wave of ecology to seduce.
Already marketed on the internet, this pasta will be sold next month in delicatessens, organic supermarkets and some supermarkets.
