There are some things you don't joke about, and pizza is one of them. It belongs to this adored category of junk food, and that's why we like it heavy and full of greasy ingredients (team 4 cheeses!). But a restaurant located in Manhattan, New York, does not hear it that way and has simply decided to revisit the pizza to make it a luxury product. The Industry Kitchen has indeed developed a dish worth the modest sum of… 2,000 dollars (1,920 euros)! But then what does it contain? Ingredients, noble, very noble, that few people have the opportunity to taste on a daily basis...
And it is the case to say it, since the key component of this deluxe version pizza are the 23-carat gold leaves placed here and there... Probably added to sublimate the prawns, the beluga caviar, the lobster, and the white truffle sauce, among others. And the products are imported from the countries whose specialty they are! The Stilton Cheese is imported from England, the foie gras and truffles from France (cocorico!), the caviar from the Caspian Sea region, and the leaves come from Ecuador. The chef behind this culinary invention, Braulio Bunay, explained that it represented the “peak of decadence”, and that it was the perfect dish if one is in a “glitzy mood”. Indeed… The professional added that it was one of the most expensive dishes he had to cook, but that “the form of pizza makes it more accessible”. Yeah… Not in terms of the price, in any case!
For those interested and located on the south side of the Big Apple, the pizza must be ordered 48 hours in advance. Do not keep in mind when tasting it that the slice is worth around 240 euros and the bite 50 euros… Bon appétit anyway!
