Making the food served in fast food restaurants more high-end is clearly a trend. After the burger and the luxury pizza, it is now the taco that becomes chic! Frida, the gourmet restaurant at the 5-star Grand Velas Los Cabos hotel in Mexico, offers a taco for… $25,000, or around 23,500 euros!
It was chef Juan Licerio Alcala who came up with this expensive idea. But it must be said that this taco is not composed of the traditional tortillas, tomatoes, onions, meat and red beans. What's inside this Mexican dish is surprising to say the least, since it contains langoustine, Kobe beef, brie with black truffles, gold leaf and Almas caviar – which is not is other than the most expensive in the world. The salsa sauce is also original:it is made from a mixture of chile morita, a dried pepper, and luxury tequila. That's not all:the restaurant menu offers to accompany this explosive dish with a bottle of tequila for… 150,000 dollars, or around 142,000 euros.
