Fries with chocolate-pumpkin sauce, Kit Kat sushi, coffee butter… Food innovations abound in Japan. The latest is somewhat different from the others, because it touches on an institution:the cake, birthday or not. Forget the chocolate icing and sugar vermicelli, with Japanese sauce, it now consists of… raw meat! Yes, we didn't really understand either... But beware, as "low-end" as it may seem, it's not!
Whether it's pork, beef or fish, the pieces are of very good quality and carefully chosen, arranged and/or rolled up so that the dish looks as appetizing as possible (yes, well, it's still meat raw). Thus, some "meat cakes" have the shape of flowers, and more precisely of roses, or even rival wedding desserts with their different layers. The meat is then of course cut and cooked in front of the restaurant's customers. A simple tray would have done the trick, but after all, it's bacon (art, got it? Ok, we'll stop there).
And you, do you like it?
