Simple, cheap, quick to cook, and so good…
With my bacon casserole eggs, I cook smart in no time and I'm sure to delight my household.
So, why don't we go and cook an egg?
This easy and quick to prepare recipe is within everyone's reach.
I often cook it when I don't have time to prepare a more elaborate meal.

- 4 slices of smoked bacon
- 4 eggs
- 4 heaping tablespoons of fresh cream
- 30g of grated cheese
- 1 nice knob of butter
Preparation:5 mins – Cooking:15 mins
1. I preheat my oven to 210°C.
2. I butter the inside of the casseroles.
3. I place a slice of bacon at the bottom of each casserole.
4. I crack a whole egg and place it on my slice of bacon (I try not to break the yolks!)
5. I add a nice tablespoon of fresh cream.
6. I sprinkle with grated cheese.
7. I bake for 15 min.
There you go, your eggs casserole with bacon are already ready :-)
I serve it hot with a side salad.
As I like to vary the flavors, I sometimes cook my eggs with thin strips of salmon.
I flavor everything with a few sprigs of dill. A dish just as tasty and simple to prepare.
- 4 slices of smoked bacon:40 g at €13.67 per kilo, i.e. €0.55
- 4 eggs:€1
- 6 cl of fresh cream:€3 per liter or €0.18
- 30 g of grated Gruyère cheese:€6.90 per kilo, i.e. €0.21
That is 1 casserole coming back to me at €0.48 or 4 casseroles at €1.92.
At that price, hard to resist...
