I don't know about you, but the Twix is one of my favorite chocolate bars .
This caramel and this crispy shortbread make me melt.
They melt me so much that I always find them too small...
And a bit expensive to buy!
Fortunately, there is a grandmother's trick to have Twix when you want the size you want!
To be able to make them when I want, the size I want (very small or downright giant), the best thing is to have a homemade recipe.
Well, this recipe does exist! Watch:

For the shortbread - P for 4 people
- 100g soft butter
- 50 g of sugar
- 150 g of flour
- 1 sachet of vanilla sugar
- 1 pinch of salt
For the caramel:
- 1 box of 400 g of sweetened condensed milk
- 50 g of sugar
- 1 C. at s. honey
- 50 g of butter
For the chocolate topping:
- 180 g of dark or milk chocolate (your choice)
Start with the shortbread:
1. Mix the butter with the sugar and the vanilla sugar.
2. Add the salt and flour little by little, stirring well.
3. Spread this dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
4. Bake in the oven for about 30 minutes at 150°C. It must remain white.
To make the caramel:
1. In a saucepan over low heat, combine the butter and sweetened condensed milk.
2. Add the other ingredients and mix again.
3. Keep on low heat and mix for a long time.
4. Mix until you get a caramel-colored paste, a little thick and elastic.
5. When it's ready, spread it still hot on your shortbread dough.
6. Leave to cool.
To make the chocolate topping:
1. Melt your chocolate in a saucepan over low heat, stirring.
2. When it has melted, let it cool for 5 min.
3. Pour it over the caramel shortbread.
4. When everything has set well and the chocolate is cold, cut your shortbread into pieces of the size you want.
Yum ! You can now enjoy homemade Twix :-)
Simple, easy and economical... But above all, it's so good!
