Some home appliances make our life easier and our finances fitter . Yoghurt Maker, Bread Maker, and Dehydrator are essential for anyone who wants to eat healthy without breaking the bank. Zoom on these 4 utensils.
Investing in well-chosen household appliances does not mean breaking the bank by spending more, it guarantees much lower monthly expenses. The devices are quickly profitable and amortized. For my part, I can't live without it.
Making yoghurts is economical, 100% natural, and ultra-simple to prepare. And frankly, the taste and flavors of homemade yogurts, I haven't found anything better.
There is nothing complicated about the yogurt maker:1 yogurt + 1L of milk =8 yogurts, well only 7, since I keep one of my delicious homemade yogurts to make 8 more!
And then, there is something for everyone. You can add fruit, compotes, chocolate, syrup, and even dry cakes (yum with speculos!), or even tea, or honey. Even better than the supermarket. Everything is possible. And at least I know what's in my yogurt!
Considering the price of the baguette today, it is better to make your own bread. Especially since on my side, I only eat whole grain breads. The bread machine saved my wallet and my daily frustration. I can't afford to buy good bread every day.
And it's such a pleasure to make it yourself and eat quality bread that's rich in flavor. You can vary the pleasure with what you have on hand:bread with nuts, dried fruit, bacon bits, carrots or brioche. Hmm, just talking about it makes me salivate.
Follower of living food, this device has become essential to me. Since I learned to recognize edible wild plants, I pick, pick and collect whenever I walk. Yes, but after?
Well, I turn my herbs into herbal teas, my flowers into dried flowers and my fruits into dried fruits. Not because picking is great, but most of the time we get caught up in the game and I bring way too many home. So wasteful.
So I decided to limit my impulses and my ardor and to keep my country races well. Tea, dried fruits, biscuits, dried mushrooms and antipasti, dried fish. It's also a good way to recycle leftover food.
Yogurt, bread and dehydrated foods can be made very well without a machine. But it's definitely longer! Bread in hand, still fine. My arm hurts but I rarely crash. Yogurts are trickier. On the radiator, I was often afraid that it would turn. I must not have the right technique.
And to dry its fruits, I just don't have the space for adequate foliage and racks. If you can, don't hesitate, but be careful not to intoxicate yourself just for an error of bad temperature, ventilation or contamination, etc. It's quite a technique.
Do you already use one of these 3 wonderful machines? Do not hesitate to testify in comments.
Even if you can do everything by hand, investing in these 3 machines is still more profitable than buying bread every day, yogurts, dried fruit at an exorbitant price, tea, etc. And what's more, it's learning to eat healthy and organic again.
If I only buy one baguette a day, I get 270€/year. With a kilo of flour, I can make 2 big loaves of bread that are worth 6 baguettes. It costs me 60€/year. At this price, I eat healthy and save €210 a year . I have more than enough to make my bread machine profitable, which cost me "only" 80€.
For a family of 4, assuming each person eats one a day. At the supermarket, I would have a minimum of 200€/year with the first prices. Or €50 savings/year if I prepare my homemade yogurts. And sincerely homemade, the yogurts are even better than those from the dairy. A yogurt maker costs between €30 and €60. Again, it pays off.
Given the price of dried fruits and vegetables or good organic teas, the calculation seems pointless to me and will depend on your eating habits. With my collection I save 100% on everything which can be dehydrated and which are found in nature, in particular in plants and flowers for herbal teas (which will also be used for cosmetics, baths and my pharmacy too) and in wild fruits.
