With this recipe for cauliflower and bacon gratin, I offer you a really nice and family-friendly dish.
It will allow you to eat well without blowing your budget.
Preparation: 30 mins - Cooking: 20 mins
Difficulty: very easy - Budget per person: €0.67
- 1 cauliflower
- 200 g of bacon
- 100 g grated cheese (Emmental or Comté)
- 1/2 liter of milk
- 20 g of butter
- 2 tablespoons of flour
1. I preheat the oven to 210°.
2. I cut the stem of the cauliflower and remove the leaves.
3. I cut it into bouquets and wash them.
4. Then, I cook them for 15 minutes in salted boiling water. I drain them at the end of cooking.
5. I prepare a bechamel sauce with milk, butter and flour. Find here the entire recipe for bechamel sauce.
6. In a skillet, I fry the bacon without fat until golden brown.
7. I butter a gratin dish.
8. I pour the cauliflower florets and the bacon bits into the dish.
9. I coat with béchamel sauce and sprinkle with grated cheese.
10. I put the dish in the oven for 20 minutes and let it brown a little more if necessary.
There you go, your cauliflower gratin is ready :-)

- 1 cauliflower:€1.60 each
- 200 g of bacon:€6.50 per kilo, i.e. €1.30
- 100 g of grated Emmental cheese:€6.80 per kilo, i.e. €0.68
- 1/2 liter of milk:€0.71 per liter or €0.35
- 20 g of butter:€5.44 per kilo, i.e. €0.11
- 2 tablespoons of flour:around 30 g at €0.51 per kilo, i.e. €0.02
An addition of €0.67 per person or €4.05 for 6 people.
