An economical and tasty guest, the Spanish tortilla!
The tortilla is a thick omelet filled with potatoes, usually garnished with onions.
Typical and popular dish in Spain, it can also be enjoyed with a multitude of ingredients of your choice!
- 6 eggs
- 4 medium potatoes
- ½ onion
- 6 tablespoons of olive oil
- Salt
1. Peel the potatoes and cut them into thin slices.
2. Heat the oil in a large frying pan and add the potatoes.
3. Lower the heat and let them cook for 5 to 10 minutes.
4. Peel and finely chop the onion and put it with the potatoes.
5. Cook everything, always on low heat.
6. In a bowl, whisk the eggs with a fork and salt them.
7. Remove the preparation from the pan and pour it into a slotted spoon as soon as the potatoes are cooked.
8. Then, add it to the beaten eggs while mixing well.
9. Remove the oil from the pan and leave the equivalent of a tablespoon. Heat over medium heat.
10. Pour the contents of the bowl, mix with a wooden spoon and let the eggs set while shaking the pan back and forth so that the bottom does not stick.
11. As soon as it starts to brown, turn the contents over like a pancake (if you're a little clumsy, prefer the plate that you put on the pan, then turn over with a sharp gesture before sliding the other side of the tortilla in the skillet!).
12. Let the other side cook for about 5 minutes, still over low heat, and serve.
There you go, your tortilla is ready to eat! Buen provecho :-)
You can accompany it with a green salad or tomatoes for a complete and balanced meal.
