No matter how hard we try, we never really succeed in stopping sweets. In order not to completely renounce sweets – because almost nobody succeeds in doing so – it is better to choose a responsible alternative:dried fruit.
Deliciously sweet and also healthy This healthy snack is rich in vitamin B1, vitamin B6, folic acid, iron, copper, potassium and magnesium. Dried fruits are made from fresh fruits from – mainly tropical – countries. The fruits are dried in a drying tunnel or simply in the open air. The water evaporates from the fruits, making them smaller and often darker.
Nutrients
To ensure that all nutrients are preserved, the fruits are packed airtight. Some examples of dried fruits are:prunes, figs, apricots and raisins. When the fruit is dried, all the vitamin C disappears, but there are still enough nutrients left to put it under the 'healthy' category. You can eat dried fruit with just about anything:as a snack, in your yogurt or in your meal salad.
Take care of your teeth
Take extra care of your teeth! Dried fruit contains many vitamins, minerals and fiber, but this candy is deliciously sweet and sticky, which can cause cavities.
