In Los Angeles, a bakery offers croissants filled with sushi

Until now, the hybrid pastry trend has had some nice surprises in store for us. We remember in particular the cruffin, this mixture of croissant and muffin, the brookie, which mixes brownie and cookie, or even the wonut, a mashup of waffle and donut. In wanting to push creativity to its limit, an American bakery has gone too far (in our opinion). Mr Holmes Bake House, an establishment located in Los Angeles, offers a croissant that looks quite ordinary, but contains a heavy secret. Her name ? The Cali Croissant. His particuliarity ? It's stuffed… with sushi!

A curious mashup

This strange hybrid viennoiserie hides in its heart a sushi made of smoked salmon, seaweed, ginger and wasabi. It is sold for around €5 with soy sauce. A creation that is not unanimous:on social networks, Internet users are not kind to the Cali Croissant, which some even qualify as a "crime against food".

If we must always taste before judging, this curious mashup bringing together a pillar of Japanese gastronomy and an essential of French pastry does not necessarily make our mouths water...
