Rice cake with chocolate sauce

Ingredients for 3 people

The cake :

  • 100g of rice
  • 0.5L of milk
  • ½ vanilla pod
  • 60g of sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp fresh cream
  • A pinch of salt
  • A few drops of orange blossom

The sauce :

  • 100g copper chocolate
  • 1 orange
  • 1 knob of butter
  • 1 tbsp orange liqueur

Preparation

Cook the rice for 3 minutes in 3 liters of boiling water.

While the rice is cooking, boil the milk, adding the pinch of salt and the split vanilla pod.

Once the 3 minutes have elapsed, drain your rice, and put it in the boiling milk. Cover everything, and cook over very low heat until the rice has absorbed all the milk (about 45min). During this time, you can start beating the eggs until stiff.

Once the rice is cooked, add the sugar, egg yolks, beaten egg whites, and fresh cream. To flavor it all, add a little grated orange zest.
Then pour everything into a mold, and put in the hot oven for 15min.

While the cake is baking, we can prepare the sauce:

Break the chocolate into pieces, and melt it over low heat in a saucepan where you will add the orange juice and the butter. The liquor can flavor everything.

Then serve the cake topped with its sauce.
