Amsterdam is on a healthy tour and since yesterday De Pijp has another healthy location richer, namely with salad bar FENNEL.
Freshly prepared salads for lunch or dinner, based on seasonal vegetables to eat there or for on the go. Supplemented with fish or meat and pickled vegetables. All organic, because Fennel loves it! The atmosphere and the products have also been well thought out and everything is locally purchased or homemade.
Elnaz Bahrami is the proud founder of FENNEL and has been very conscious about food and living for over 10 years. She missed a location where she could easily have a healthy and conscious lunch or dinner. Now her dream has become reality and after 2 years of devising this concept, it is now really going to happen. We can now enjoy her inspiration around conscious salads and organic healthy drinks, such as the homemade rhubarb or mint syrup lemonades.
Local
The Dutch fruit and vegetables come from organic soil from farmers in the immediate vicinity. The honey comes from a lady who has her bees on the Amstel and also makes the honey there. The fish comes from Henry who himself drives to the sea every morning to pick out the fish of the season there.
Shop
At FENNEL you don't have to go home empty-handed, because there are homemade oils, vinegars and pickled vegetables for sale in a beautiful FENNEL bottle. In addition, you can of course also buy the syrups and honey.
Treat
Elnaz also let us taste the homemade almond milk with raw cocoa and this was a real treat! We would have loved to have shared the recipe with you, but for this you will really have to experience FENNEL yourself. If all goes well, a book will be published next year with all the recipes, so we'll have to wait a little longer.
Sustainable
No queues to buy another bottle of water, but a handy solution with a fountain in the middle of the store to fill your bottle with tap water. You can even make your lemonade here with a soda machine. This is also sustainable, but the wooden interior and the decoration with, among other things, herb plants give a green look.
