Almonds are often recommended as a healthy snack. An American study shows that they effectively satisfy your appetite for unhealthy snacks.
The investigation
There were five different groups for the study:two groups ate 30 almonds in the morning or in the afternoon with a meal. Two groups ate the nuts as a snack in the morning and afternoon. A control group was not allowed to eat nuts and seeds. Furthermore, there were no extra eating rules.
Benefits
Eating the almonds gave the test subjects an average of 250 calories, yet no one exceeded their usual calorie count. The participants felt less hungry, especially when the almonds were eaten as a snack in the morning or afternoon. In addition, no one arrived extra.
