Not wasting vegetables is an easy way to produce less waste. But not all vegetables can be eaten from head to toe.
The following things should not be eaten
1. Potato sprouts Potatoes belong to the nightshade family. Under the influence of daylight, solanine is formed in the skin, a natural poison. It doesn't hurt to eat in small amounts. Solanine is also mainly found in the sprouts and in green spots on the potato. Always cut this away before preparing your potatoes.

2. Tomato leaves
Tomatoes are also part of the nightshade. The leaves of a tomato are therefore not edible.
3. Berries from the asparagus plant If you grow asparagus yourself, you may have seen red berries growing on the plant. They look attractive, but eating the berries can make you sick.
4. Apple seeds
An apple is a fruit, but it should not be missing from this list. Apple seeds contain cyanide, a substance that can be deadly in high doses. Thanks to the layer around the seed, the seeds normally have no influence on your body. You should even eat 100 grams of well-bitten apple seeds before the substance is fatal to you. So you can safely eat your whole apple, but if you prefer to spit out the seeds:this is your excuse.
