We don't have that many salmon lovers here at home. Luc eats with it, but Lotte and Frank have nothing to do with it. That also means that I actually prepare much less salmon than I would like. Too bad, because I really like salmon. Fortunately, I have now found that salmon in the airfryer is really very simple. It is also quickly ready, so you can easily prepare salmon in the airfryer for one or two people, but also for four if you want. Ideal if not the whole family eats salmon, but you still want to eat a nice fish every now and then.
In this case, I prepared the salmon in the airfryer for half the family and the other half ate a tasty vegetarian burger. The big advantage of preparing in the airfryer is of course that you don't have to stay with it. This allows you to easily stay with your pans on the stove.
In terms of ingredients, this salmon recipe in the airfryer does not require a lot of extras:
Because salmon already has a very strong taste of its own, you don't really need to season this fish very strongly, but the above is very tasty.
Do you have the time? Then brine your salmon a day in advance, then it will be even tastier. Let the salt with the sugar soak in and then rinse the salmon before putting it in the airfryer. If you want to pickle, you use a mixture of salt and sugar in the ratio 3 parts salt and 1 part sugar.
I haven't done that now, by the way, this is just a quick salmon recipe in the airfryer that you can make while you prepare the rest of your food.
Sprinkle the salmon with salt and pepper. Preheat the airfryer if necessary with your airfryer. I have a very nice Philips Airfryer XXL that does not have to preheat due to the Rapid Air technology. So ideal! Another big advantage of this airfryer is that you can get a grill plate with it, which is very suitable for preparing the salmon. It may stick faster in the normal basket, but it works perfectly on this grill plate that I use. I smeared it lightly with some oil, but next time I'll just try without. I think that goes well too.
Just use fresh salmon or make sure the salmon is thawed before putting it in the air fryer. The salmon can be in the airfryer at 190° for 7 minutes and then it is ready. Before serving, drizzle some lemon juice over it and use some dill or parsley if you want. And you're done!
Of course you can think of anything. But for us it was a quick cook day this time so I combined the salmon with mashed potatoes and spinach à la crème from the freezer. Incidentally, we always eat this spinach with boiled egg (crumbled) in it and a little bit of sprinkled aroma and herb breadcrumbs through it. The kids always enjoy it and it's not much work.
The salmon in the airfryer is therefore ready within 7 minutes and the vegetarian burgers from Meatless Farm also take about as long in the pan. In this way you have the food on the table in fifteen minutes if it is necessary. And even though we like to cook and we also enjoy it, every now and then it is very nice when the food is on the table so quickly!
Would you also like to learn to cook in the airfryer, but don't have an airfryer yet? I have tried several and can really recommend the Philips Airfryer XXL.
You buy them from Philips itself or, for example, from Coolblue.
