Pizza is one of our favorite cocooning dishes . We eat it when everything is going well, to celebrate, but also when we are down and want to eat something comforting. With itssoft dough , its tomato base and its melted cheese that makes our taste buds tingle, we really cannot imagine our life without this Italian dish. However, depending on the composition of the pizza, it can quickly become a calorie bomb . Cheese, but also ham, can increase the caloric intake of a slice of pizza. So if you're on a diet, want to watch your diet or simply want to discover a new recipe, this pizza for less than 50 calories will surprise you!

This is the Youtuber Emma Fontanella who revealed her recipe on her cooking channel Emma’s Goodies. A recipe which as of May 12, has accumulated nearly 1.3 million views. For her, it is quite possible to cook a pizza full of flavor and low in calories.

Recipe:how to make a pizza with less than 50 calories?

By following this recipe, you will get a pizza of about 400 calories, or 50 calories for one slice representing 1/8th of the pizza.

For the ingredients, you will need:

For the pizza dough:

  • 80g plain flour and 3 tsp baking soda
  • 50g of skimmed milk or 50ml
  • a pinch of salt

For the garnish:

  • 35 to 50g maximum light grated cheese
  • 1 tsp grated parmesan cheese
  • 5 tbsp unsweetened tomato sauce or plain coulis
  • Peppers, mushrooms, onions or other non-caloric vegetables
  • Herbes de Provence and oregano

Preparation steps:

  1. Mix the flour, baking soda and milk. Make a smooth ball.
  2. Wrap the dough in cellophane and set aside.
  3. In a bowl, mix low-fat cheese such as mozzarella or emmental, with pepper, salt, and garlic powder.
  4. Roll out the dough with a rolling pin to obtain a circle a few millimeters thick. The dough should have a diameter of about 22cm.
  5. If you wish, you can pre-cook the dough on the baking sheets, in a large pan or in a special dish.
  6. Preheat the oven to 240°C.
  7. On your pizza dough, add the tomato sauce, half the cheese, the vegetables and bake at the top of the oven for 5 minutes maximum. All you have to do is enjoy.
