A roll of puff pastry, a can of tuna, a brick of cream and a few olives… That's enough to make a delicious tuna pie, quick and economical.
When I have friends over for dinner and I want to offer a meal that is both light and delicious, I quite often opt for a tuna pie as an appetizer. It's very quick to make, it requires few ingredients and it's a recipe that is really not expensive.
My secret recipe
All you need is a roll of puff pastry, a can of natural tuna, a small brick of cream (and possibly half a glass of milk if you want to cut the cream a little to make the pie lighter) , a handful of pitted green olives and a little grated cheese.
Roll out the dough in a pie pan. Pour the undrained tuna and the cream (as well as the milk if necessary) into a bowl. Mix well then pour into the bottom of the pie that you have previously pricked with a few strokes of the fork. Sprinkle with gruyère and green olives. Bake in a hot oven for 25 minutes.
Serve hot or warm, accompanied by a well seasoned green salad.
This savory pie recipe is really economical. It does not cost more than 3.5 euros and allows you to eat between 4 and 8 people depending on the accompaniment that you put and if you serve it as a starter or main course.
Nothing to ruin you then, and this tuna pie is really a treat! I have plenty of other pie recipes for you. So do not hesitate to vary the pleasures. And you, what are your recipes for inexpensive pies to please yourself at low prices? Share them with me in the comments.
