A cheap and light recipe.

A cheap and light recipe.

Want a cheap recipe for a meal with friends? The goat cheese puff pastry with basil should do the trick. Simple and light, this recipe will delight all gourmets.

As for the ingredients, nothing too complicated. For 4 people, you take:

--> 1 log of goat cheese
--> 300g puff pastry
--> 1 egg
--> basil

Preparation

We won't make 2 puff pastries, 1 isn't enough to take the time to savor;-).

1. Preheat the oven to 210°C (thermostat 7).

2. Cut 8 slices of goat cheese, 2 cm thick each.

3. Cut 16 small circles in the puff pastry. They should be slightly larger in diameter than the cheese. If you don't have a cookie cutter to do this, use a small glass as a substitute, that will do the trick.

4. Place each piece of cheese on a disk of pastry and add a little chopped basil. Cover the goat cheese with the remaining dough circles and close each puff pastry by pressing down on the dough with your fingers. Beat the egg yolk and brush it with a brush on the pastries, they will have a nice golden color after cooking. Bake for 15 min.

Your puffs are ready. Serve them piping hot and don't forget the greens! With a mix of different green salads , and a light vinaigrette is even better.

Savings Achieved

Goat cheese, and puff pastry... In terms of savings, it's pretty good! By doing the math, we arrive at 6€ for this light entry. Whereas if you had bought puff pastries of the same kind in supermarkets, it would have cost you twice for 4 people.

And especially here the starter, you make it homemade, the guests will appreciate this original recipe much more than a basic starter found in store and reheated.
