In the editorial of our June issue you saw the cake that Santé's Saskia baked. We have approved it at the editorial office. The recipe for the cake can be found here.
Ingredients
- 200 gr soft butter
- 75 gr sugar
- 1 ripe banana
- 5 eggs
- 200 gr self-raising flour
- 2 apples
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp biscuit and gingerbread spices
- pecans, as many as you like, roughly chopped
Preparation method
- Preheat your oven to 160 degrees.
- Beat the butter with the sugar until well mixed and add the eggs one at a time. Mix until a nice batter is formed. Mix the self-raising flour, cinnamon and spices into the batter. Add the chopped pecans to the batter, stir well.
- Pour the batter into a greased cake tin. Cut the apples into slices and place them on the cake. Bake the cake in the oven for about 60 minutes. After about 50 minutes, check with a skewer whether it is already cooked. The cake is done when the skewer comes out clean and dry.
- Let the cake cool for a while in the tin and then cool further on a wire rack
Enjoy your meal!
