Recipe:Mallorcan salad

With its gastronomic cultural wealth, Mallorca is a real hotspot for all gourmets. The “Trampó mallorquín” is ideal for hot days. The Mallorcan salad is traditionally prepared in the summer months because it is light and healthy. The “Trampó” is prepared with seasonal products from our own garden, green peppers and onions.

Ingredients for the Mallorcan salad:
– 4 beef tomatoes
– 2 red pointed peppers
– 1 large white onion
– 1-2 cloves of garlic
– 0.5 tsp sugar
– 1 .5 teaspoons salt
– 5 tbsp olive oil
– 2 tbsp white wine vinegar
– 0.5 tsp ground pepper
– 1 small handful of parsley leaves for garnish

Preparation

Cut the onions into cubes, cut the tomatoes into quarters and cut them into pieces. Cut the tops of the peppers into half moons or quarter moons. Dry the onion pieces with a tea towel. Mix the onions, tomatoes and peppers together, season with salt and season with ground pepper. Add vinegar and olive oil. Mix well, let it steep and serve at room temperature.
