In times of crisis, everyone needs comfort (food). Ftou, located in the Foodhallen Rotterdam, has the ideal recipe for this. Kormos is a traditional Greek dessert with a modern twist. Be kind to yourself and have an extra piece of this delicious chocolate dessert.
Necessary Kormos
300 g milk chocolate
300 ml full cream
1 pack Maria biscuits
150 g pistachio nuts
3 tablespoons cognac
Preparation time:20 minutes
- Crumble the Maria cookies. No higher mathematics here, this is allowed to be rude. Also a nice job for the kids.
- Chop the pistachio nuts finely. You can also freestyle here and use other notes that you have on hand or that you prefer.
- Heat the cream in a bain-marie, together with the chocolate and the cognac. Keep stirring gently until it melts into a whole. Do not let it boil further, because then you will get ganache – also very tasty.
- Stir the cookies and nuts into the chocolate mixture.
- Line a baking tin with baking paper and then pour the mixture into it. Do not forget to lick the batter from the spoon for quality control.
- Put the mixture in the freezer until it feels firm.
- When the kormos is firm enough to cut into, it's ready to serve! You can portion these as desired and possibly wrap them with cling film and store them in the freezer for emergencies.
