It is very easy to make and it is a real treat.
This is a pudding recipe made with stale bread. Watch:

For 4 people
- 150 g of raisins:€4.84 per kilo, i.e. €0.73
- 1/2 liter of milk:€0.71 per liter or €0.35
- 100 g of candied orange:€29.70 per kilo, i.e. €2.97
- 150 g of powdered sugar:€1.19 per kilo, i.e. €0.18
- 2 eggs:€0.50
- 10 pieces of white sugar
- stale bread
Either a delicious pudding costing me €1.18 per person or at €4.73 for 4 people.
Preparation: 40 min - Cooking: 50 mins
1. I soak the raisins in hot water for 15 min.
2. During this time, I crumble 200 g of stale bread in a salad bowl. I pour 1/2 liter of boiling milk over it, I cover and let it swell.
3. I finely cut 100 g of candied orange and drain the grapes.
4. I incorporate the bread crumbs.
5. I blow for two seconds on the preparation then I add 150 g of sugar, the 2 eggs beaten in an omelette, the grapes and the orange.
6. In a cake tin, I caramelize 10 sugar cubes with 2 tablespoons of water.
7. When the caramel is ready, I pour it very slowly on the walls of the mold and I pour my preparation.
8. I bake in a moderate oven for 50 min.
There you go, your stale bread pudding is already ready :-)
If you are really very greedy, you can add jam everywhere!
This is a delicious healthy snack for your toddlers and very economical for your wallet.
