I offer you a delicious pepper, ham and onion omelette.
This is a quick and easy recipe, which I often make on weeknights.
With this easy and quick dish to make, you eat good and balanced and in addition, you have a little time in the evening to relax, since you save time in the kitchen.
- 6 fresh eggs
- 1/2 red bell pepper
- 1 thick slice of white ham
- 1/2 onion
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
I cut the half pepper then the ham into small cubes. Next, I cut the onion into thin strips. In a large bowl, I break the eggs and beat them.
In a frying pan, I heat a little olive oil and add the peppers and onions to brown them. If you don't have olive oil, you can use 2 knobs of butter, that's not bad either. Once the vegetables are grilled, I add them to the eggs, at the same time as the diced ham and I mix everything to obtain a homogeneous result.
In the pan that I used to cook the vegetables, I put a little olive oil or butter to heat. Then I add the preparation, cover and cook over low heat for 5 minutes.
The cooking of the omelet should already be well advanced. If so, I turn the preparation over and let it cook on the other side. When the omelet is golden brown, it's ready. You can eat it as is. Personally, I always do a little green salad on the side which perfectly accompanies my omelet.
In the evening, you should not eat too much, otherwise you sleep badly. Here you have a balanced, light and above all, inexpensive dish.
I did the little math and this recipe for 4 people costs me 5.25€: €3 for the eggs, €0.95 for the pepper, €1 for the slice of ham and €0.30 for the onion. When it comes to olive oil, I'm a big fan, so I always have a bottle on hand at home.
How you can please the whole family without necessarily paying a thousand and a hundred. And we also save some time for ourselves in the evening.
So, have you tried my omelette? Tell me if you liked it in the comments below.
