Like every week now, I'm selecting an inexpensive recipe for you:today it's mozzarella tomato gratin, less than 1 euro per person!
Ingredients for 4 people for this easy recipe:
- 8 beautiful, firm and very red tomatoes
- 300 g of mozzarella
- Basil and thyme leaves
- Olive oil, salt and pepper
The preparation is super fast, about 5 minutes:
I preheat my oven to 200 degrees. During this time, I clean my tomatoes and cut them into slices 1/2 cm thick, and the same for the mozzarella. The thinner, the better!
The trick is to drain the tomatoes well, salt and pepper them before making the gratin.
I coat the gratin dish with a thin layer of olive oil to prevent it from sticking.
Then, I make a "mille-feuille" by alternating slices of tomato and mozzarella, ending with a layer of cheese so that it's au gratin.
Don't forget to insert some basil and thyme leaves and season with a drizzle of olive oil.
All that remains is to put it in the oven for about 1/2 hour and finish 5 minutes under the grill to brown the top well.
I made it last weekend with 3 friends, and I can tell you that it was such a success that I decided to publish the recipe for everyone. If you try it, let me know what you think? Do you have any ideas for variations?
At less than 1 euro per person, this recipe is really cheap.
And, as it's easy and quick to prepare, I try to make plenty of dishes so that I can take the leftovers to the office the next day at noon so as not to spend too much.
