It's been several months since sushi took over Instagram's #Foodporn planet. Colorful, sweet, burger-shaped or cake-shaped, sushi is constantly reinventing itself, and while basic sushi is still our favorite (right?), we're always on the lookout for the slightest creative trend in our favorite dish. That's good:a new and original sushi trend is on the rise on Instagram. We love sushi, we love donuts, we will surely love… sushi donuts! Do not panic, these are not donuts stuffed with raw salmon and wasabi (phew!) but, like sushi burgers where rice replaced the bun, sushi donut is a sushi… in the shape of a donut . Nothing complicated of course, but let's admit that it makes you want to taste it!
So how? To start, you have to grease a small donut-shaped mold with coconut oil which you then fill with the special sushi rice that you will have prepared before. Next ? Nothing could be simpler, indulge your culinary desires by decorating the "rice donut" with what will delight your taste buds:sesame, wasabi, salmon, tuna, avocado, ginger... All the choices are possible!
Well, we admit it:there is little chance that this trend will one day be offered in a Japanese restaurant. Moreover, food trends on Instagram pass so quickly that few of them last more than a few weeks. On the other hand, we can have fun trying to imagine what the next sushi trend will be:hot dog sushi? Sushi pizza? Spaghetti sushi? Anyway, if it combines rice and raw fish, it's a safe bet that the next food trend will make our mouths water... like sushi donuts!
